The European Students’ Union (ESU) is the umbrella organisation of 45 National Unions of Students (NUS) from 39 countries. The aim of ESU is to represent and promote the educational, social, economic and cultural interests of students at the European level towards all relevant bodies and in particular the European Union, Bologna Follow Up Group, Council of Europe and UNESCO. Through its members, ESU represents almost 20 million students in Europe.

On behalf of the BoD, Jan Vanherck, Director of Finance and Administration, has signed the Memorandum of Understanding with the European Student Union (ESU) on January 11th, 2019. ECBE views students as the important stakeholders and includes students as members of the Review Teams. ESU becomes a preferred partner that trains and selects students, experts in the field of quality in higher education. The terms and conditions were negotiated by Polona Tominc, Director of Accreditation, and the final contract was approved by the BoD on November 11th, 2018. The term of the contract is 3 years, and is automatically extended.
