Polona Tominc, PhD in Economics and Business sciences, is Head and a full-time Professor in the Department of Quantitative Economic Analysis at the Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Maribor. She is acting dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business. She is also a leader of the research programme “Entrepreneurship for Innovative Society”, financed by the Slovenian Research Agency, member of the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor team, member of the research team and Slovenian entrepreneurship observatory and member of the international research team DIANA, aimed at researching women entrepreneurship. She is teaching courses in statistics, research methods and methodology in entrepreneurship theories at bachelor, master and doctoral cycle and has been a supervisor to master and doctoral theses at University of Maribor and at Gujarat Technological University.

She is involved in the quality assurance of higher education, since 2010, when she became one of the first experts of the Slovenian Quality Assurance Agency (SQAA) and where she is involved in the accreditation processes in higher education in Slovenia. She became ECBE evaluator at 2011. She was appointed as the ECBE Director of Accreditation from August 2018 to January 2022. She is a member of the ECBE Advisory Board since January 2022.
