Message of the President, December 14th, 2016

Dear friends and colleagues,

As the festive season approaches, I hope you are all looking forward to some rest and relaxation with family and friends. It was a pleasure to see many of you in Amsterdam in May and I hope to see old friends and new at our 2017 conference in Moscow on May 26 and 27. Please find details on the ECBE website, together with information about the pre-conference Seminar and opportunities to present a paper at the conference. Please also share this with colleagues in your own and other institutions.

2016 was a year of transition for ECBE. Bryan Holden stepped down as Executive Director. We wish him well as he looks forward to retirement in Switzerland and South Africa and we welcome Jacques Bouche as our new Executive Director, based in Brussels. Jacques’ presence there is particularly significant as ECBE strives to gain recognition from ENQA: an objective which is supported by your Board and endorsed by the Membership in Amsterdam.

In order to have the necessary resources for this and other global initiatives, the Board has approved an increase in Membership fees to 1200 Euros from January 2017. Jacques will be sending invoices soon and prompt payment is appreciated.
